Panerai offers the Pam 104 as a more contemporary version of the PAM 111, which uses the Panerai OP III Calibre which produces 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz). This is also a COSC Certified Chronometer. It displays the date at the 3 o’clock position. The Panerai OP III Calibre is a Panerai modified Valjoux 7750 movement.
Either watch is an excellent piece of history, displaying the technology which had to be developed to meet the demanding needs of the Commando’s and Frogmen of the Militare Marine. It is also a piece of contemporary history.
